AI Agent Architect

Remote, US client, time zone overlap required · Full-time · 5+ years

Posted October 4, 2026

A full-time, client-facing architecture role supporting a US-based client: designing, building, and productionizing LLM-powered agents and multi-agent systems.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary AI architecture point of contact for a US client, joining their technical reviews, syncs, and planning sessions directly
  • Design end-to-end architectures for LLM-powered agents and multi-agent systems: orchestration, tool use, memory, and retrieval
  • Build and ship production agents with the Claude API and Agent SDK, MCP servers, and tool integrations into the client's systems
  • Define evaluation, observability, and guardrail strategies so agents are reliable, measurable, and safe in production
  • Balance quality, latency, and cost across model choices, prompt caching, and agent workflow design
  • Translate client business problems into scoped, buildable agent solutions, with clear trade-offs and delivery plans
  • Review code and architecture, and set patterns and standards for the engineers building alongside you
  • Document architecture decisions, agent behavior, and operational runbooks
  • Communicate proactively and professionally with client stakeholders: this is a client-facing seat, not a purely backend role

What we're looking for

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience, with 1+ years building LLM-powered applications or agents in production
  • Hands-on experience designing agentic systems: tool use, multi-step planning, orchestration, memory, and RAG
  • Strong Python and/or TypeScript, plus experience with APIs, backend services, and cloud infrastructure
  • Experience with the Claude API, Claude Code, MCP, or comparable LLM and agent frameworks
  • Working knowledge of evaluating and monitoring LLM systems: evals, tracing, and failure-mode analysis
  • Strong verbal and written communication, comfortable being client-facing with US time zone overlap
  • Comfortable working independently in a remote, fast-paced environment
  • Bonus: experience with vector databases and embeddings, fine-tuning, voice or multimodal agents, or consulting/agency work
